Sarah Palin’s makeover

I never thought I’d actually write about Sarah Palin and fashion in the same sentence, but this week when news broke about her costly makeover, well, I just couldn’t help but write a post about it. Palin’s makeover has included shopping sprees at Barney’s, Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and other places. I do realize that most politicians and their spouses spend lots of money on making themselves more presentable to the public. However, I think it’s ironic that Palin, the pitbull with lipstick and “average” hockey mom who touts that she is nothing like those in Washington D.C. and who prides herself in her “outsider” status which she claims will bring some real change to D.C. with all her maverickness, would agree to be given such large amounts of money for clothes, accessories, make-up and hair, in a time when the average hockey mom is striving to make ends meet. I’m sure those average moms and dads would like to have $150,000 to pay their mortgage, bills and maybe buy their kids an outfit or two at their nearest Wal-Mart!
